Project Aram Seyya Virumbu

Statistics reports there are 444 million children in India under the age of 18yrs. This constitutes 37% of the total population in our country and out of this 1 in 4 children of school going age are out of school in our country, i.e., 99 million children in total have dropped out of school. A survey reveals that only 69.8% of students studying in government schools have access to the basic infrastructure. Most of the government schools in Tamil Nadu are reported to have poor infrastructure and basic amenities such as toilets, drinking water facilities, libraries and furniture for the students.

Phase I

In the year 2015, Phase I of ‘Aram Seyya Virumbu’ was initiated. Actor and Philanthropist, Mr.Raghava Lawrence’s contribution of 100 lakhs has helped us to intervene in many charity activities, such as constructing toilets in government schools, scholarships and medical aid for the needy. 100 social activists were identified and was provided each Rs. 1 Lakh who then helped those in need in various parts of Tamil Nadu.

Taking the conditions of government schools in Tamil Nadu into consideration, Vikatan in association with our own leading advertiser named GRT jewelers came up with Phase II for this project in 2017, which aims to enable comprehensive educational facilities including good environmental facilities in government schools. It kick started with a complete meta analysis of Annual status of education report’s survey and educational status report of Tamil Nadu to identify the deserving schools which need to be intervened and improve their infrastructures. Out of 100 schools, 20 deserving schools were screened and 6 schools which needed the attention in priority were identified.

Objectives

1. To Enable Comprehensive Educational Facilities including Good Environmental facilities for students studying in schools managed by the government of Tamil Nadu.
2. To Renovate/Restore the available environmental facilities in order to provide quality education to the students.
3. To ensure the availability of Basic amenities in schools managed by the government of Tamil Nadu.
4. To provide Financial Aid for deserving students for their studies
5. To provide Medical Aid for poor and needy patients

அறம் செய விரும்பு - கனவுகள் நனவாகும் காலம்!

கல்விதான் சமூகத்தின் இருளை விரட்டும் பேரொளி. பாகுபாடற்ற கல்வி ஒவ்வொரு குழந்தைக்கும் உறுதி செய்யப்படவேண்டும். அதை உறுதிப்படுத்த ஏழை மாணவர்களின் இறுதி நம்பிக்கை யான அரசுப்பள்ளிகளை மேம்படுத்த வேண்டும். உள்கட்டமைப்பினை வலுப்படுத்த வேண்டும். அதில் அரசுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்குமே பங்கிருக்கிறது.
